The look of the breasts can be influenced by a variety of factors. Ptosis, or droop, can be caused by the natural aging process, pregnancy and nursing, and genetic causes. Dr. Baltodano, our expert plastic surgeon, can elevate the breasts to a higher, more youthful posture and restore young firmness to this area with Breast Lift surgery. He employs the most sophisticated techniques available, customizing each treatment plan to achieve the best possible results. If you're unhappy with changes in your breast shape, fullness, or location, this treatment may be able to help restore your figure to its former glory.

What are the benefits of a Breast Lift?

Breast tissue may lose suppleness over time or as a result of other factors. This can result in a variety of changes, including volume loss, sagging, and other cosmetic issues. Breast Lift surgery, also known as Mastopexy, is intended to remove extra skin from the breasts and elevate the tissues to a more youthful, aesthetically pleasing location on the chest. Furthermore, this technique might make breasts appear firmer and fuller. To summarize, Breast Lift surgery can:

  • Reduce excess skin

  • Elevate breast tissue to a higher, more youthful-looking position

  • Enhance symmetry

  • Modify nipple and areola size and shape

What are the different Breast Lift techniques?

Breast Lift surgery can be performed using a variety of procedures, and the best strategy for your desired outcome and anatomical demands will be decided during your initial consultation with Dr. Baltodano. The majority of mastopexy procedures are carried out utilizing one of the following methods:

  • Periareolar Lift: The periareolar lift, often known as a "donut" mastopexy, is performed by making an incision around the circle of the areola (the pigmented area around the nipple). This is the most conservative Breast Lift option, and it is frequently suited for ladies who just need a minor amount of lift to reach their goals. This method can also be used to minimize the size of the areola.

  • Vertical Lift: A vertical lift, often known as the "lollipop" Breast Lift, employs the same circular incision as the periareolar lift as well as a vertical incision from the areola to the inframammary fold. The inframammary fold is the point at which the breast tissue touches the chest. Dr. Baltodano can treat extra skin and sculpt the breast more efficiently with this additional incision, resulting in a firmer, fuller, and "perkier" result.

  • Inferior Pedicle Lift: This method is also known as the "anchor" method. The initial two incisions are identical to those used for the vertical lift, with a third incision made along the inframammary fold. This procedure is frequently utilized on breasts with considerable ptosis since it allows for the most skin removal. The nipple and areola are also raised to provide the most cosmetically attractive result possible. This is the most commonly utilized approach.

Are breast implants necessary?

Many women get Breast Lift surgery without breast implants, and they are not required as part of the treatment. Many patients, on the other hand, want to increase the size of their breasts as well as their volume and fullness. Mastopexy can sometimes cause breast enlargement, and breast implants are frequently used to compensate or even further increase the breasts. BAM (Breast Augmentation with Mastopexy) is a popular procedure. If you want to discuss this option with Dr. Baltodano, please bring your questions and concerns to your first appointment.

What should I expect during the procedure?

Breast Lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure and takes between one and two hours to complete, though the specifics of your treatment plan may change this time frame. General anesthetic is administered, and you should be able to go home the same day. Prior to your procedure, you will be required to complete a few pre-operative instructions, as well as numerous post-operative instructions. These are intended to give you the best and safest experience possible.

How long will recovery take?

If you are undergoing Breast Lift surgery as a single procedure (rather than as part of a multi-procedure operation), you can expect to be out of work and routine activity for at least a week or two, including school and common domestic responsibilities. Some discomfort is typical, and we will offer you with pain medicine. Swelling, pain, and bruising in the treated area are normal and will go away with time. How to manage bandages and other critical information will be included in your home care instructions. For at least four to six weeks, avoid intense exercise and recreation. Swelling may last for months or perhaps a year or more, although the majority of the inflammation should resolve within a few months. You may not even notice the puffiness after this time. After around 12 months, you should be considered entirely healed. Scars will be evident at first, but they will gradually soften, smoothen, and fade in color as time passes.
